Mrs. Debbie Ray

Welcome to the threshold of all learning, English Language Arts!
In this class students will explore some great literature for its theme and plot, analyze the work of some gifted authors for the literary devices used, and apply what the students have learned to create writing that communicates meaning well.  Students will learn how to avoid the pitfalls of plagiarism as they research to learn more about the world around them and how to share the information they
gather appropriately.  Many of the skills learned here will be used in every content area for the rest of the student’s educational career.

Mrs. Debbie Ray was born just a few miles away in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  She earned a BS degree from UNC Pembroke and a MA Ed from Western Carolina University.  For many years she has enjoyed teaching students in grades 2 through 7.  She and her husband, Bob, call Laurinburg home.  All three of Mrs. Ray’s daughters plan to be educators as well.  Educating young people runs in the family.
